The International School of Dongguan (ISD) will host their annual international day event on November 17. It’s one of the major events organized by ISD’s Parent Support Association (PSA).
The event will take place from 10 am until 2 pm on ISD Campus. With a record of over 1,000 people having attended last year—this year, more attractive elements suitable for family-fun have been prepared, including cultural representations, regional food, games, and entertainment. Food and drink tickets will be between 5-20 RMB. Since it’s an international day, everyone is encouraged to wear their national dress for the occasion!
Kelly Kramer, the director of ISD explained the purpose of the annual International Day, “The event is to celebrate our school and its diversity, and while celebrating diversity come together as one community!” Upon its inception the event was also part of United Nations Day, to foster learning to value other cultures.
Dongguan is a city which embraces various countries and this day will be a great opportunity to share culture and history, enhance international cultural exchange and most importantly, to cultivate a sense of global citizenship.
